Common Uses

Applied to exposed edges of cabinet plywood, shelving, countertop substrates, and furniture panels to hide the plywood core layers and create the appearance of solid wood construction.

Pro Tips

  • Apply with a household iron set to medium heat. Press firmly and move slowly along the edge. The adhesive melts and bonds to the panel edge as you go.
  • After the adhesive cools, trim the overhanging edges flush with a sharp utility knife, edge trimmer, or block plane. Sand lightly with 150-grit for a seamless edge.
  • Match the veneer tape species to your panel face veneer for a consistent appearance. Apply the same stain and finish to the edge tape as the panel face.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need special tools to apply edge tape?
No. A household iron, utility knife, and sandpaper are all you need. Specialty edge trimmers speed up the trimming step but are not required.
